1 year doctor visit

Kevin had his 1 year visit today and I have his "official" numbers rather than my DIY numbers from home...

Weight is 18lbs 6ozs (5th percentile).
Length is 30 1/2 inches (75th percentile).
HC is 44cm (3rd percentile).

Still long and lean (I wish I had that problem).

The boy eats like a horse and he's still so thin (again...hey problem, over this way please). The doctor said I could take him off his formula now. I just nodded since he's been off of it for a month already. It's funny that the weight he gained was after I took him off of it, but I guess he was more hungry for real food once he was off the formula because, although he always ate well, his eating really took off at that point.

He got 2 shots today and they, thankfully, did them simultaneously. He got his MMR and his Chicken Pox vaccines and he was a trooper. Only cried for a few seconds and was smiling at the doctor before we left.

Wow, Kevin is tall! John was the same height at his sick baby visit this past Monday. He's only in the 25th percentile for height. Oh well, Bill & I are short so he fits in well with us. I know you're a nurse, did you research the MMR at all? I read all sorts of paranoia on A.com, but ultimately decided I'd rather John have one shot than three. He had no ill effects from it. I'm glad to see Kevin is doing so well!

Tracy-Yes, I saw the posts on a.com, too, and I wish I never did...

Wow he does seem tall. Theo's appt is coming up so I'll be curious to see where he is at. Did you switch cold turkey to milk? or phase out the bottle/formula? We haven't done this at all yet...Theo's on a soy formula so I'll have to figure this all out.

Laurie-Yes, I switched him cold turkey and had no problems at all. He loves the milk much more than the formula.

Dang - he is tall...Austin and Logan were 28in at 14 months (embassy appointment) and then a whopping 32in at their first well baby visit home (? 16 months old?). No clue what they are now, seems like they've grow a little bit more. We are also whimps on shots and are WAY behind. And we are still on formula becasue I think Logan is Lactose intolerant and I hope he'll grow out of it rather than switch him to soy. BUT enuff about me! LOL And back to Kevin who seems to be doing exceptionally well!
Yay, Kevin!
